Yarn Snob

Okay, I admit it, I'm a Yarn Snob. Actually, I participated in the Yarn Snobs Unite swap on swap-bot.com. Here is the lovely yarn that I received from my swap partner, Beth. I love it! This yarn is so me. Anybody that knows me, knows I absolutely adore bright colors and I have been really wanting to try some Alpaca. I'm going to make a hat out of it, which will come in handy because I'm going home in two weeks for the Knit-Out at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. I'm planning on having a slumber party in my hotel with all the girls.

Red Scarf Buddies

As mentioned in my previous post, several of my knitting groups worked on scarves for the Red Scarf project. Last week at the Knit Wits group, we gathered a bunch of the scarves from the various groups and Borders was kind enough to ship them off for us. I never got around to taking pictures of my scarves, but I have included a picture of the bunch of us, courtesy of Jody.

50% Done

I finished one of my hubby's socks and had him try it on. He said "You're 50% done, hopefully I'll see the next one by next Christmas!" He likes to josh me about getting my projects done, he knows I sometimes don't get things done when I originally planned on it. After all, I have some counted cross-stitch WIP that are 20 years old. But seriously, I should have his other sock done by the end of the month. I'm really trying to stick to my one pair of socks a month goal.

I finished both the scarves I wanted to get done for the Red Scarf Project. We turned them in to the Knit Wits Group at Borders today. Borders is kind enough to ship out all the scarves for all of the groups that brought them in. This includes Orlando Knit Wits, Orlando Area Knitters and Spinners, West Orange Knitters and Knit or Knot. There were some pictures taken and as soon as they become available I will post one on here. I'm not sure what the final count was, Jody has that information.

Knitting Resolutions

Okay, I'm finally going to put down my Knitting Resolutions, or goals for the year:
1. Finish one pair of socks a month.
2. Only have three projects on the needles at a time. The exception to this rule will be socks. I'm not going to count them so there!
I guess that's enough resolutions for now.

The month of January is half over with and how am I doing on my resolutions? Here's what's on my needles at this time:
1. Boobalicious Tank
2. Pink Irish Hiking Scarf
3. Jim's socks
4. Scarf for Red Scarf Project

Not too bad, considering and remember, socks don't count, right? I'm almost done with Jim's first sock so I'm hoping to finish the pair by the end of the month. I will also have my red scarf done this week.

More Yarn Porn

My swap buddy, Andrea, from my Coffee and Yarn swap sent me some more yarn, because she had inadvertently shorted me on the yardage. Thanks, Andrea! I love will use this colorway for a pair of socks for hubby.

Thanks to Jackie, my yarn pusher, I bought some more yarn for me and my swap partner. You must check out her selections of yarn. http://jackiesfineyarns.blogspot.com/
I just drool at them, especially the Seacoast Yarns.

Sock It To Me Baby, Part III

This is month three of my Sock of the Month Club from Joslyn's Fiber Farm. I absolutely love this yarn and pattern!

Sock It To Me Baby, Part 2

I'm finally getting around to taking pictures of some of my recent acquisitions. This is my second month's selection from Joslyn's Fiber Farm. I love the pattern, but the yarn is too heavy for me and I'm going to pass it along to one of my swap buddies.
