Ox Sox Update

I've been working on Ox's socks, but I won't have them finished in time for the match this weekend. I should have them done in time for his birthday. On a wrestling note, I went to the UXW show this weekend. Had a very good time and got to see lot's of Raven. (Be still my foolish heart.)

Sassy Socks

I received a package from the Netherlands from my Sassy Socks swap partner, Robert. I love the Opal Yarn he sent me. My hubby likes the colorway too, so I guess we'll be fighting over these socks when I get them made up. Good thing we can both wear the same size socks! Thanks Robert :)

Sock It To Me Baby, Part IV

I'm probably missing one posting about my Sock of the Month, but here is the current month's selection from Joslyn's Fiber Farm Sock of the Month. The picture doesn't really do justice to the yarn, it really a purple, rather than a royal blue.

Warm Winter Scarf Kit

I received a package from my swap partner, Stacey. She sent me some lovely items. There is really enough there to make two different kinds of scarves, one lace with beads and another more loosely knit one. She included the patterns and needles, and beads. She also sent me some yummy chocolate, which is already gone, a beautiful smelling candle, some coffee (which I have to grind up and make), some tea, which I have also already sampled, and a coffee cup. This swap was on swap-bot and it was a lot of fun. It was a Warm Winter Scarf swap and even though I'm in somewhat warm and sunny Florida, I still enjoy me a comfy scarf and a hot spot of tea or coffee.

Roses in February

I went out in the yard today and found that my rose bushes are still blooming. This is one of the most amazing things to me about living in Florida, having flowers that bloom all year round. My rose bushes are as tall as my house and they must be as old as the house too because they seem pretty hardy, which is a good thing because I have a tendency to kill plants. My poinsetia bush in still blooming too and I haven't killed the one at work yet.

Knit-Out Spoils

I'm way behind on my posts. I had a blast at the Knit-Out and spending time with family and friends. The Knit-Out itself was full of freebies from the yarn companies, Michael's and Clover. I ended up coming home with free yarn, patterns and needles. There were some demonstrations and beginners classes. I did manage to see the doggie fashion show, but by the time the other fashion show came I had enough of the crowds and it was on to the shops.

We ended up hitting 4 or 5 shops total. First stop was Zandy's in Burnsville where one of my best friends works. I ended up getting four skeins of some lovely Marble yarn for a hat, scarf and wrist warmers.

We next went to Three Kittens in Mendota where I bought a massive quantity of sock yarn as well as some Nuro Daria to make a purse. I bought lovely Tofutsie's yarn and Artyarns as well as Clown and my girlfriend gave me some Lorna's Laces Shephards Sock and some beautiful patterns as well. All in all it was a successful trip. I was able to see my niece who I haven't seen in three or four years. She just got out of the Nurse Corps a few months ago.

Hats Off To Me

I finally finished the hat using the yarn I received from my swap partner, Beth. It's just in time for my trip to Minnesota tomorrow for the Knit-Out at the Mall of America. I can't wait, but I'm going to freeze my arse off!

Yarn P@RN

While I'm updating my blog, I might as well show you my latest acquisitions, courtesy of Jackie and Sip and Knit.

Ox Sox

For my next project I am going to do some birthday socks for my favorite wrestling ring announcer and best buddy, The Mighty Ox, voice of the Southern Championship Wrestling. I found a colorway from Seacoast that matches the SCW logo colors. I bought the yarn from my yarn junkee, Jackie. She so good at giving me my yarn fix. It's so great when I can mix two of my favorite things, wrestling and knitting!

We finally have a pair!

Hubby finally has a pair of socks and I only finished them a couple of days later than I wanted to. Next on the sticks - Ox Sox. (See next posting.)
